Point scoring for Centre awards

All children receive points for their performance in each event in which they participate. The point scoring is based on the athlete’s performance in relation to a set age group performance standard. A child who competes regularly and participates in all events will, at the end of the season, have an excellent chance of accumulating sufficient points to do well at the Club and Centre awards. A child who has excellent performances but misses some weeks of competition, or does not compete in all events, is less likely to do well in the end of season awards.
