Every family is required to participate in a minimum 5 duties per season;

Click Here to go to Signup Genius to register for Duties.

If we do not have enough parents to assist in events they may not be able to proceed on the day. Many of the duties are very simple so jump in and register now, please ask for assistance at the Pavilion if you are unsure.
Duty Roster participants need to collect a hi-visibility vest and sign in at the pavilion prior to duty to ensure your duty is recorded..

U6 age group parents are encouraged to stay with their child. In all other age groups if you are not on duty please do not come out onto the track or field.

On Team App under resource tab you will find Officiating 2019/20, with a link to LaVic website and the 2019/20 Officiating Booklet (green link on right hand side) take the time to read about the event you are rostered on. It’s a great way to be active in your kid’s participation and be part of their development.

Our U6-U8 program is 0830-1000.

This Saturday’s coaching focus for our U9-U16 age groups is hurdles on the back straight from 0900. This week our U13-U16 athletes start from 0930 with hurdles. U9-U12 athletes compete from 1000 with all scheduled to conclude by around midday (check weekly programs under schedule tab on Team App OR website www.willylac.com.au for specific times of events).

Wednesday afternoons High Jump training with Ted will resume again 22nd January 5-6pm, thanks Ted for all your assistance teaching our athletes to hit new heights!!

There are also paid coaching opportunities available with Robbie Spencer see Team App under events for details of his sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

U7-U10 jump from a sand covered mat, measurements are from the front of the foot on the mat to the back of the body part landed in the pit, ideally a foot, however if they fall and place hands/bottoms down it is taken from the closest body part to the mat. The distance between the two points is their measured jump.

U11-U16 use the painted bar. As U11 are using the bar for the first year and getting used to a narrower take off area if they take off from behind the bar their measurements are taken from the back edge of the bar, all other age groups measurements are taken from the front edge of the bar (closest to the pit).

All athletes must wear WLAC uniforms (shorts and top) and their LaVic patch whilst participating; they can be purchased at the track every Saturday details of items and prices available and on Team App under Resources.

Little Athletics Victoria - Junior Development Squad

Registrations Open

The Junior Development Squad (JDS) gives U12 – U16 athletes an opportunity to develop additional skills and improve technical competencies through participation in coaching and training sessions with some of Victoria’s leading coaches. Training with other keen and enthusiastic squad members is both fun and motivational and helps develop new friendships based on an enjoyment of athletics. The emphasis on learning new athletic skills and improving existing ones is in a friendly and supportive environment.

To join JDS, athletes must achieve the qualifying standard in their current age group of the season. Athletes must achieve one standard on two separate occasions or two different standards, once. This ensures that the performances show a consistency and not just a once off.
